Terms of Service
Hello there, and thank you for visiting Storillo!
Storillo (“Site,” "we," "our," or "us") is a group work management platform for education that is made available to you (the "User") with permission from your school, district, instructor, or other educational organization/supervision (the "Client"), and provided and managed by Storillo Inc. (the “Company”).
Storillo is an educational product and service that provides a variety of unique tools to be used for collaboration and evaluation.
Storillo is intended to be used in educational settings by instructors and students. This may occur in a traditional school or university setting or may be part of workshops, conferences, or training exercises. No matter the setting, Users will either be classified on the Site as “Students” or “Instructors.” A Student cannot utilize these services unless they are a member of a class overseen by an instructor at an institution/organization (the “Client”) which has the proper permissions to allow their students to use our services as outlined.
Instructors are users who have the proper permission by their organization or institution to use Storillo with their students for projects, assignments, and other educational purposes. Instructor accounts are tied to the institution or organization to which they belong. They have the ability to create classes in which their students can enroll. By creating a class, Instructors represent and warrant that they have the proper permission from their organization or institution to do so, and that they will not use the Site for any purpose that is inconsistent with these Terms. Instructors may not use Storillo for any personal profit or benefit that does not result directly from the education of the Client’s Students.
Students are Users who enroll in classes that are overseen by Instructors. As Students, they will use Storillo to complete projects assigned by their Instructor. Student activity occurs in the context of projects, which will be visible to their instructor as well as fellow groupmates, depending on the nature of the project. By using the Site, Students agree only to use the Site for purposes that are consistent with these Terms, and consistent with their Instructor’s and/or institution’s policies.
The Storillo platform creates an environment for collaborative student learning that is managed by Instructors. We therefore require Instructors and/or school officials, as the case may be, to take on certain responsibilities, including (i) insuring proper consent from your school or institution and/or from parents for Student use and (ii) monitoring Student use of the Site.
i) Insuring Proper Consent
ii) Monitoring Student Use
If you are an Instructor, by agreeing to use the site in connection with your students and/or configuring Storillo for use with your students, you agree to monitor Student activity on the Site for compliance with these Terms. In the event that any Student violates these Terms, including but not limited to our Content Restrictions below, you agree to notify Storillo at email@example.com of any such violation, and/or rectify such violation using the tools provided on the Site.
Permissible Use of the Site
In order to use Storillo, you need to either: (1) be 13 years of age or older; or (2) have your school’s, parent’s, or guardian’s consent to these Terms. Any use of Storillo by any person that is not in accordance with the above is strictly prohibited.
Accordingly, If you are an official of a school, school district, or institution, by granting any student under 13 years of age access to Storillo or by granting teachers of such students under 13 years of age access to Storillo, you represent and warrant to Storillo that you have authority to accept, and do accept, the terms herein on behalf of each participating student’s parent or guardian. This form of consent is intended to comply, and does comply, with the children’s online privacy protection rule (“COPPA”) because Storillo collects students’ personal information only for the purpose of providing Storillo’s service to your school, school district, or institution, and not for any other commercial purpose whatsoever (1 Pursuant to FTC guidance available at https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/complying-coppafrequently-asked-questions)
If you are an instructor that is operating completely independently of any K-12 school, you agree that you will not, under any circumstance, grant access to Storillo to any student under the age of thirteen (13) without first notifying Storillo of your intent to do so, and either (1) providing to Storillo contact information for that student’s parent or guardian (so that Storillo may obtain their consent directly); or (2) providing to Storillo a fully executed copy of our parental consent form, available here here.
The only permissible use of the Site is as a group work management platform in an educational setting between instructors and students. Any other use of the Site, including for any purpose that is not primarily educational, is strictly prohibited. If you are a Student, the Site is available only for your personal, noncommercial use. If you are an Instructor, and you have been given permission to use the Site by a school or institution, you may not use the Site in connection with any persons that are not students or other employees of that school or institution.
Account Creation, Maintenance, and Deletion

Upon termination of an instructor or other staff member’s employment, you will take all necessary steps to prevent such terminated employee’s access to their Storillo account. If at any time you learn that a User claims to be affiliated with your institution, school or district who is not, in fact, affiliated with your institution, school or district, you agree to notify Storillo immediately.
